How many cars like the GT3 and GT3 RS that aren’t from Porsche are there? The AMG GT R and the Mustang GT350(R) are the only ones on sale that I can think of. The last gen Z28 comes to mind too but I’m on the fence about the 1LE Camaros.

Bonus points if it’s not a European luxury brand

Golf GTI Clubsport S. Almost as powerful as the R (290PS vs the R’s 300), 2883 pounds and a Nurburgring time of 7:49. It’s a two seater too.

Basically, limited-run hardcore versions of a cheaper base model car. M3/4 Competition Package, Civic Type R, 370Z Nismo, limited non-US versions of Evo and STI. They are all very impractical as designed, but can hang with much more expensive cars on the track.

These exist at many price points, although not all are available in the US.

Yeah, I would add that weight savings is an important factor. Hot rodding isn’t the same philosophy. The C63 AMG is more like a 911 Turbo than a GT3

I would argue that the C7 Z06 and ZL1 are more of the 911 Turbo philosophy than GT3.

Definitely forgot about the M4 GTS and Viper ACR though, good call
